This back to school season we invite you to partner with 7 schools across Haiti and the Dominican Republic to empower students through education for just $50.
The Second Chance mission is passionate about seeing progress and breaking the cycle of poverty. We believe that young people can overcome adversity and hardship, breaking free from generational poverty, through access to quality education.
In the developing communities we serve we know that:
- Each of the communities are some of the poorest in the world and yet they don’t have access to a free education as we do in America.
- Many families we partner with have children living in poorly made houses with dirt floors, no electricity, no bathrooms, and go to bed hungry many nights.
- A majority of children can’t afford to attend school.
- Many children need to work to make money for their families instead of going to school.
- Less than 30% of children that attend school complete the 6th grade.
- Roughly 40% of adults are illiterate.
- 60% of the population lives below the poverty rate, living on less than $2 a day.
Pray. Please pray with us. Pray for guidance and provision to empower these future leaders through education. Pray for the next generation to step into their power and potential. Pray that they are educated and empowered to learn, lead, decide, and thrive, so that whole nations may reap the rewards.
Invest. Please consider helping a child with their back to school needs met through a one-time gift of $50. By doing so, one child will receive items such as: tuition, uniforms, shoes, school supplies, and/or cost of books. Your generosity is having a tangible impact in these developing countries. Your gift will have a ripple effect that will impact generations to come.
Share. Shout with us from the rooftops that there is hope for children in the poorest communities of the world. We believe that each of us can impact one child, one leader, and one community. Invite others to join the fight for one more! Please also consider starting a fundraiser on social media platforms, via email, etc. to spread the word and increase your impact
