Education is the most important part of someone's life. Education is a key that brings us from darkness to light. Education becomes the light to our lives and destroys our ignorance. There are many reasons why education is important, specifically in Haiti.
Here are 10 reasons why it is important in a Haitian's life:
1. Stability: When you're well educated, nobody can ever take it away from you. It opens better career opportunities and new doors for yourself.
2. Financial security: Good education tends to lead to a higher paying job, as well as provide you the skills needed to get there.
3. Equality: For the entire world to become equal, it needs to start with education. If everyone received the same opportunities in education, there would be less gaps between social classes.
4. Self-dependency: The importance of education is critical when it comes to being self dependent. That allows you to not only be financially independent, but also capable of making your own reasonable choices.
5. Make your dreams come true: If you can dream it, you can achieve it. Education is the most powerful weapon you can possibly have in a country such as Haiti where opportunity is rare.
6. A safer world: The more educated you are as a person impacts your community. The better a community is, the better the community will be. Each community around the world wants to be a better and safer place.
7. Confidence: Being confident is a major part of being successful in life. Your level of education gives you the confidence to express your opinions and speak your mind.
8. A beneficial part of society: In today's society, having an education is considered a vital part of being accepted by those around you and is believed to make you a useful part of society.
9. Economic growth on a national level: An educated society is crucial for economic growth. We need people to continue to learn and research in order to constantly stay innovative. With a more educated population, more employment opportunities are opened.
10. Education can protect you: It can protect more than you know, not only on a financial level, but it can help prevent you from being taken advantage of by knowing how to read and write.
