New Year Letter

Friends and Family of Second Chance,

It is the start of a new year! After so many trials and hardships over the last couple of years, the start of this year truly feels promising in more ways than one. I hope that your family can feel and see the same hope for this year that we do!

We are in awe of the work that’s been accomplished by you, our faithful and resilient partners. Families are stronger, children are empowered, young adults are transitioned out of institutionalized living, elderly have access to basic necessities, and most importantly, new believers have the Hope of Jesus! This is all because of you and your generosity.

We will continue to make a massive impact around the world by relying on our proven strategies; however, we believe there is fresh momentum and ideas to come for our mission in 2023. We want to assure you of this:

Our Mission is to end generational poverty through empowerment. Our Vision is to maximize the development of each person to impact the world for Jesus.

To do so, we will stick true to our Core Values:

Faith - Nothing we do means anything without Christ. He makes all things come together. Whether living in need or abundance, He is our hope and our reward.

Impact Driven - It is our duty, goal, and obligation to make decisions that lead to authentic, sustainable life change which results in massive impact in the lives of those we serve.

Committed - We know true change doesn’t happen overnight. Each of our programs are designed to be sustainable, an investment for generations to come. 

Collaboration - We work directly with indigenous leaders to identify resources and solve problems together. We need a network of churches and organizations who are committed to working together to increase awareness, enhance cultivation, and expedite transformation.

Empowerment - We are dedicated to empowering people to find their purpose, achieve their goals, and create a life of self-reliance. We believe in giving hand-ups and not hand-outs.

Excellence - We have a responsibility to utilize all resources and talents to their fullest potential for God’s glory. We understand excellence does not result from occasional and unstructured activity, but rather through repeated and disciplined thought and action.

My prayer is that you will continue to play a vital role in the Mission and Vision of Second Chance.  There is much to be written for the story of impact in 2023, and we are excited to write it with you!
